英文法のキモであるコンマの使い方を簡単に説明します！

英文法を理解するうえで、我々日本人にとって一番

やっかいなのは、英語のコンマの使い方と、コンマ

が含まれた英文の構成がわからなくなってしまう

ことです。そこで今回は、英語のコンマの使い方に

ついてまとめてみました。

３つ以上の句を羅列するときに使う。

He kicked the ball, and run to goal, and smashed opponents.

I had rice , miso soup , and eggs for breakfast.

I plan to see Taro, and Kenji will go to theater while we see.

and の前にカンマをつけることによって分の構成がわかりやすく

なる。

 

but, for, or, nor, so, yetの接続詞の前におく

I did my best, but my father didn’t like my performance.

 

主文の前に、前置きの文を書くとき

 

While I was eating, my sister talked to me.

By twenty, careers of medals are often over.

 

付加情報を加えたいときに前後にカンマ

 

I am, as you have probably noticed, very concerned about this.

The bridge , which spans Nagara river, is falling down.

it rained so much, and though it has stopped now, it will make

the event cancel.

コンマの代わりにカッコやダッシュを使うこともできるが

よりつながりがない場合である。

 

2語以上の等位形容詞が続く場合

He is a strong, healthy man. = He is a strong, and healthy man.

混同しないように

We found old blue paper.

 

接続副詞のまえにつける

You must remember, however, that the newpapers are not always

accurate.

 

引用が来る場合に使う

The teacher asked, “How many of you like this food?”

“The question is,” said Mike,”whether you are correct.”

”  “の前にはコンマを使います。引用している文章が

分割する場合でも、それぞれの前にコンマをつけます。

 

相反するものを対比する場合

The dogs were cute, but very messy.

~ではなく~だ。という文章でコンマがつきます。

 

びっくりマークの代用として

My, it is really good.

 

本筋から無視していいところ

My sister, Junko,ate my desert.

My sister Junko ate my desert

違いは上は1人しかいなくて、下はたくさんの中の

JUNKOです。

 

日付、数字、州、住所 など

ただし、州を省略して大文字で記す場合は、州を記したあとのカンマは不要です。
